Reflux Divider

Reflux Divider

Precision reflux dividers for controlling reflux ratios in distillation columns.

Reflux Divider Overview

Reflux dividers are used to take off the distillate from a column, with a valve usually fitted on the distillate outlet for coarse control of reflux. They are available in standard and magnetically operated designs. In the standard type, DN2 is used for inserting a thermometer pocket, while a bellow is recommended on the distillate outlet DN1. In the magnetically operated type, the swinging funnel mechanism is controlled by an external electro-magnet and timer, enabling accurate reflux ratio control. The funnel stays at 100% reflux when the magnet is inactive. Liquid seals are used on magnetically operated dividers to prevent vapour from bypassing directly to the receiver.

Key Features

  • Precise reflux ratio control
  • Borosilicate glass construction
  • Adjustable flow rates
  • Chemical resistant materials

Applications

Reflux dividers and their accessories are commonly used in:

• Distillation columns for chemical and pharmaceutical industries

• Research laboratories for precise reflux ratio control

• Pilot plants and production facilities requiring reflux management

• Processes needing accurate separation, distillate collection, and reflux return

• Systems where thermometer pockets are required for temperature monitoring

• Installations requiring vapour-tight operation using liquid seals
