Structure Fittings – Equal Bracket

Equal bracket fittings for balanced support connections in structural systems.

Structure Fittings Equal Bracket Overview

Equal brackets (denoted EBT series) are structural fittings used to form right-angle connections between tubes of the same nominal bore in the support framework. These brackets slide onto matching galvanised tubes and are fixed with grub screws, allowing modular assembly without welding or heavy fabrication. The brackets are dimensioned with parameters such as h, L, and L1 for each nominal bore size. In the structural support system for glass plants, equal brackets provide rigid orthogonal junctions, supporting lateral loads while maintaining alignment. Their modular nature allows flexibility and future reconfiguration. The use of cast iron (or optionally stainless steel) ensures the bracket can robustly handle mechanical stresses in the frame.

Key Features

  • Stainless steel construction
  • Equal bracket design
  • Balanced support
  • Secure mounting

**Materials & Features**

– Standard material: cast iron; optionally stainless steels (304 / 316)

– Slidable over matching tubes; locked by grub screws

– Bracket geometry ensures full engagement along h and L lengths

– L1 dimension gives offset or clearance as needed in frame design

**Design Considerations**

– Ensure adequate overlap with tube insertion length to maintain rigidity

– Use in conjunction with bracing to counter twisting or bending

– In corrosive environments, prefer stainless bracket versions

– Avoid concentrating loads only on one branch to prevent uneven stress

Applications

Equal brackets are useful in support structures for:

– Forming right-angle corners or frame edges in modular support grids

– Bridging between vertical and horizontal tube members of the same NB

– Providing connection points for secondary bracing or cross members

– Enabling uniform structural layouts that distribute loads equally in orthogonal directions

– Facilitating easy disassembly or realignment in pilot plants or retrofit systems
