Column Packing

High-efficiency column packing materials for distillation and separation processes.

Column Packing Overview

Column packings such as Raschig Rings and Pall Rings made from 3.3 borosilicate glass are widely used in distillation, absorption, and extraction processes. They provide a large surface area for vapor-liquid contact, ensuring high separation efficiency and low pressure drop inside glass columns. Raschig Rings are cylindrical glass pieces ranging from 8 mm to 50 mm in size, offering uniform liquid distribution and excellent chemical resistance. They are suitable for laboratory-scale as well as industrial-scale applications, especially where purity and transparency are critical. Pall Rings are a modified form of Raschig Rings with additional windows and internal structures, allowing better gas-liquid flow dynamics, higher efficiency, and reduced pressure drop. Both types are chemically inert, non-toxic, easy to clean, and resistant to high temperatures and corrosive media, making them ideal for use in chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and food industries.
