Solid-Liquid Extraction Unit Overview
The Solid-Liquid Extraction Unit is used to extract soluble constituents from solid matrices using a liquid solvent. In this semi-batch system, the solid is often placed in a perforated or porous container (e.g. glass fiber bag) inside the extraction vessel, while solvent vapor condenses and percolates through the bed, dissolving the target solute and returning to the reboiler loop. The process is repeated until extraction is complete. Typical sizes include 20 L, 50 L, 100 L, 200 L, and 300 L under atmospheric conditions. The system includes vapor lines, condenser, reflux divider, drain valves, and optional solvent feed lines both top and bottom.
