Galvanized structural tubes for robust support systems and frameworks.
To form rigid structural support for glass plant installations, “B” class galvanised tubes are used. These tubes are offered in mild steel (galvanised or epoxy coated) as well as stainless steel grades 304 and 316. Standard nominal bore sizes are ½″, 1″, 1¼″, 1½″, and 2″. These tubes can be supplied in cut lengths to match structural frame requirements, and each open end is fitted with a rubber plug to guard against ingress of debris. The galvanised tubes deliver a cost-effective, corrosion-resistant framework that integrates well with cast iron or stainless steel fittings for modular construction. Their consistent diameters and standards make them compatible with the fitting range provided by the same product line. Because these tubes act as the “skeleton” of the support system, proper selection of tube size and length is central to ensuring mechanical stability, ease of assembly, and future flexibility.
**Tube Sizes & Dimensions**
| Nominal Size | NB (mm) | External Diameter (mm) | |————-|———-|—————————| | ½″ | 15 | 19.5 | | 1″ | 25 | 32.5 | | 1¼″ | 30 | 41.5 | | 1½″ | 40 | 48.3 | | 2″ | 50 | 60.3 |
**Available Cut Lengths**
– Vertical installations: up to 6,000 mm, depending on NB size
– Frame (horizontal/rigid cross members): standard module lengths such as 400, 500, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,500 mm
**Materials & Finishing**
– Base material: Mild steel with galvanising, or epoxy coating
– Higher grade option: Stainless steel (304, 316) for enhanced corrosion resistance
– Rubber end plugs are provided at both tube ends to protect interior surfaces from foreign particles
**Structural Use Constraints**
– Tubes must be integrated within a properly braced rectangular frame to prevent lateral deformation
– Tube size must be chosen consistent with load and frame span to avoid buckling or excessive deflection
– Compatibility is assured with the catalogue of compatible fittings described alongside this product line
Galvanised structural tubes are ideal for use in a broad set of glassware support contexts, such as:
– Vertical support frameworks for glass columns in distillation, absorption, or extraction setups
– Cross-bracing and frame structures for carrying piping, glass vessels, and instrumentation
– Modular glass plant installations where future adaptation or reconfiguration may be required
– Structures exposed to chemical environments, where corrosion resistance is necessary
– Lab-scale or pilot plant installations where replicable, modular support elements are advantageous
